How does industrial design improve your life?
Show and tell me design is a social event featuring a panel of Adelaide’s leading designers discussing popular designs and their merits. Guests are encouraged to bring along images of a product they think is an example of either good or bad design and join in the global discussion on World Industrial Design Day.
Submit examples to be part of the panel discussion and have a chance of winning $2000 worth of SolidWorks training sponsored by Intercad. To enter, email widd2011@hintsandspices.com with your product images and 25 words or less describing your thoughts on its good or bad design.

Adelaide Launch
Great Event! > "Join the ADA and Stylecraft as we launch our way into The Festival State! We've got some juicy guest speakers, fresh and rosy from institutes and industry. During the evening, Domingo Robledo, editor of (inside) Magazine, will invite each speaker to address how they embody value in their work, how they protect their creative ideas through the design process and their recommendations for how Australian copyright laws could better protect the industry." www.authenticdesign.com.au

Love for ID
2010 marked an amazing year for the Graduating Industrial Design Students of UNISA. Their final year exhibition 'I[HEART]DESIGN' was the talk of the industry last December.
There were many stand out acts for DCOSA, one in particular was Tim Grisbrook (work featured). We suggest you take 5 and find out more, meet him here. We especially heart his furniture piece below!
www.iheartdesign2010.com will be featuring all student work so... become a fan, become a friend, follow the tweets and stay in tune with what these fabulous, up and coming designers are contributing to our community.

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!
(Extract from The ADA)
Replicas, fakes, ripoffs. Call them what you will. Whatever way you look at it, they’re damaging to the design industry and people it supports. The Authentic Design Alliance is here to do something about it. We’re here to reward those who use genuine furniture in their fitouts and help our members to encourage their clients to choose the genuine article. So please, enjoy the website and if you believe in what we're doing, join the cause. http://authenticdesign.com.au/
We recommend becoming aligned...

CALL FOR ENTRIES
In celebration of World Industrial Design Day on 29 June 2010, we invite industrial designers from South Australia to participate in ‘Hung out to dry’. This event intends to raise the overall awareness of industrial design through the understanding of our discipline.
To demonstrate how industrial designers can solve social and environmental issues, local industrial designers and industrial design firms have been invited to design coat hangers made from recycled material.
We are asking aspiring South Australian industrial designers to be part of this show. A small number of allocated positions have been made available for the right candidates; this creates a unique opportunity to be able to have your work displayed alongside well known designers.
