Bowerbird Bazaar in an exciting new event which will market Australian designer/maker art and wares to Adelaide audiences in October 2009. Bowerbird Bazaar promises to combine independently designed and made products, great food, wine and coffee, information, installations, interactive activities and live music. Bowerbird Bazaar will be held at the Queen’s Theatre in the city of Adelaide, to be run twice yearly, the first will be held 9–11 October 2009. DIA Awards

Objectified

A movie you should keep an eye out for is Objectified. According to the website;

"Objectified is a feature-length documentary about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and, by extension, the people who design them. It’s a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It’s about the designers who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It’s about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability."

I haven't seen this movie as yet but would very much like the opportunity to do so. It was created by Gary Huswit who also created the doco film Helvetica. If you have any further information on this film, please let DCOSA know.

Industrial Design ...and Wine
